Meet Bertholt Brecht at our Benefit Salon!

Come join B. Someday productions and the friends and family of Walking Fish Theatre for a Benefit Salon! This event will take place on Saturday, October 10th, from 5 pm to 9pm. Ms. Carol Smythe will be opening her spacious and lovely home for this benefit event, at 1242 E Palmer Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Entertainment will be provided by Melissa St. Angelo playing the harp, and there will be some surprise guests.  Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Proceeds will benefit B. Someday’s upcoming production of The Good Puppet of Szechuan, adapted from Bertholt Brecht’s The Good Person of Szechuan.

Guess who's coming for cocktails? bertholt Brecht, father of the Epic Theatre, The Threepenny Opera, and The Good Person of Szechuan.

Who is this Bertholt Brecht we keep hearing so much about? At our Benefit Salon, you’ll finally have a chance to find out just who he really is and what his place is in not only theatre history, but also world history. Find out about his many wives and mistresses, his conflicts with the Nazis, Senator Joseph McCarthy, and the Hollywood studio system, while having fun. You can purchase a raffle ticket to win a dessert from one of the many exotic countries in which Brecht lived. B. Someday’s artists will perform excerpts of the show as a sneak preview. Relax and have fun with friends and hear some lovely music.

Cocktails and hors d’oveures will be served in Ms. Smythe’s spacious shaded garden, which seems half a world away from Philadelphia. B. Someday Productions is deeply grateful for her generosity in donating the use of her home for the fundraiser. B. Someday’s family Fringe hit, Fractured Fairy Tales, has had sold-out houses and added performances, allowing us to meet more of the community’s needs. All proceeds from the Benefit Salon will support greater accessibility to quality artistic programming.

Again, tickets are $30 at the door, but $25 in advance when you purchase them at walkingfishtheatre.com. Dress is semi-formal. For more information, visit our website or call us at (215)427-WALK, or e-mail us at info@bsomeday.org.
